Used to work as a MapInfo presales consultant and a major part of my job was setting up all kind of testing and demo environments for a variety of potential end-users. Used to do a lot of Integrated mapping (OLE-programming with VB6) on MapInfo Professional and was the first in the Netherlands to test-drive MapXtreme.
Discovered OpenSource GIS about 6 years ago, started of with Mapserver. Now I host WMS/WFS and KML networklink solutions professionaly, do data conversions and preparation and build web-based client applications on Flamingo-mc, Openlayers and Google Maps.
I live in Goes (Zeeland), The Netherlands. Am indepent (Open) GIS consultant and run a company called 3DSite where we are researching and developping 3D GIS solutions.
Geoserver on gOS
I got addicted to gOS about a week ago and decided to turn it into a Gis-power machine.
Since gOS holds Ubuntu 7.01 under the hood, it is well configurable. So I:
- Installed PostGreSql
- Installed postGIS
- Downloaded an OpenstreetMap planet file and imported it into postGIS
- installed QuantumGIS, viewed my data, looks ok
- Installed Geoserver
- And I am now creating SLD's for the various elements of the OpenstreetMap dataset.
Logo
Creating logo samples for Geoserver, I would like to know what you think? The logo is created with Inkscape and can be made available in all sizes and all file formats.
